About Festival

This year Vukovar Film Festival - Danube Region Film Festival made its biggest jump in a seven-year history. At record seven locations we are screening 87 films, including winners of the world's largest film festivals.

We are introducing new categories: Europe open up short films, Scandinavian Focus and the Retrospective of a Contemporary German Film. We are also bringing Retrospective of Predrag “Miki” Manojlovic (an actor and a member of the jury) and The Best of Vukovar Film Festival.

The main evening locations are: Terrace of the Agency for Waterways and the beautiful park of Eltz Castle.  Ruzicka’s house, Cinema Borovo and a summer getaway place Danubian Sand Island “Ada” remain our standard day - time screening locations.  This year we have added another interesting location - Country Estate Principovac (one of the best vineyard places in Croatia) – located in a nearby city of Ilok and therefore we named it- Cinema Ilok.

Festival brings stronger than ever educational program with five film workshops, an introduction of International Short Film Festival Oberhausen and presentation of the book “History of Freemasons in Croatia: Book I. Wisdom” by Branko Somen (writer, screenwriter, journalist and a member of the jury).

 Besides Mr Miki Manojlovic and Mr Branko Somen our third jury member this year is another familiar name in Croatia - Mr Djelo Hadziselimović (respected editor of foreign program on Croatian National television).

 KinoTV Party Zone at Beach Bar Danube Gardens is the main entertainment location of the festival where audience can enjoy concerts by popular Croatian bands and DJ’s.

 If you are interested in hot film premieres come and see them in Vukovar!  If you are interested in film education, participate in our workshops!  Late at night enjoy heavy rock beats and then in the morning from 10am start enjoying great movies!
