Summary:

In the summer of 2006, more than 10,000 Christian fundamentalists from all over the world were travelling to the World Cup in Germany - not to enjoy soccer, but to bring the Christian faith back to Europe. As the global media and millions of frenzied fans all descend upon the world's most popular sporting event, so too an 'army of true believers' and their secular opponents.

By focusing on the actions of four of the missionaries from the United States, Kenya and Germany and also their secular adversaries during the world’s largest sporting event, ‘Jesus loves You’ reveals the gripping stories at the frontlines of the modern fundamentalist evangelical effort, a worldwide battle between religious fundamentalism and conflicting worldviews.

Biography

Michaela Kirst works as a documentary director in New York and Berlin. With Robert Cibis and Lilian Franck she produced the documentary series ‘Disgustingly Healthy’ and ‘The Crusade Against Evil’.
Robert Cibis is the director and producer of several documentary and feature films. He currently works on the feature length cinema documentary film ‘Pianomania’.

Matthias Luthardt directed the Cannes Festival Semaine de la Critique Prize winning feature film ‘Ping Pong’ (2005).
Lilian Franck has been directing and producing films for more than 10 years. ‘Jesus Loves You’/’Jesus Liebt Dich’ is her first feature length documentary.
