December 2005. In a village deep in Romania, a number of people are attending the funeral of a great Gypsy-Hungarian violonist, who died aged 76. His dead has brought together all the musicians in the region because they considered him their master. Right there they are playing for his memory. They don’t know one another, they live far apart in different corners of Transylvania. Their culture and backgrounds differ, their music does too, but it is part of their lives, like the air or food. The Master is gone but a new group is born. An orchestra of 27 musicians, Gypsies, Roumanians, Hungarians. It’s simple, natural, vital and magical. Our film discovers these magical moments of music through different destinies; tragical and happy, poor and rich, but their music is eternal.
